Course : A Fun and Creative Introduction to Holistic Massage - A Weekend Workshop in Birmingham Description We will learn simple foot, back, neck, shoulder, face massage and relaxation techniques; introduce anatomy - made easy and fun; introduce chakras and stillness work. If you are wondering whether to study for the Diploma course and would like a taster of the Meridian's teaching approach; want to use massage at home, or just want a relaxing weekend, this might be for you! Course : Appointed Person First Aid with Holos Healthcare Description Need to renew your First Aid Certificate? Appointed Person First Aid Course. Maximum use is made of structured practical time, and the aim is for studnets to learn First Aid in a relaxed, informative atmosphere whilst having fun! The qualification gained is recognised within the UK and successful participants will receive a certificate to cover the current statutory requirements for appointed persons. Course : Introduction to Sports and Remedial Techniques Description One day course for qualified massage therapists, introducing Sports and Remedial techniques with a holistic focus. Course : Looking After Your Bodies - Minimum Effort with Maximum Effect Description A one day workshop for qualified bodywork practitioners. We will look at how you are safely using your body in your work - your movement and body weight behind your strokes in order to work deeply without hurting yourself, and to prevent repetative strain injury. We will work with forearms in order to reduce the pressure on your hands and wrists. This workshop will count to your CPD hours. Participant comment on this course. Course : Metamorphic Technique Description A simple approach to self-healing and personal development that draws widely on the basics of universal principles. Using very subtle touch to the spinal reflexes of the feet, hands and head, it acts as a catalyst for change to patterns of energy (also know as universal energy or life force) that have got stuck, or that no longer serve us, gently enabling us to make transformations in our own life and support others to do so in theirs. We like this training at Meridian, because the technique is accessible to all, easy to learn and can be integrated into everyday life. After additional work and attendance at two workshops you can become a practitioner member of the Metamorphic Association (see www.metamorphicassociation.org for more information). Course : Professional Diploma in On-site Massage (Seated Acupressure) Description Three levels are taken over 3 teaching weekends, though Level 1 can be taken as a stand alone course. The teaching weekends are: 16/17 May, 13/14 June and 11 July 2009. Established in 1989, the Academy offers excellent training good after-support to its graduates with on-going training and, if you are looking to work in the corporate field, links to this sector in the UK. Course : Professional Training In Holistic Massage Therapy Description A part-time, one year Diploma course in professional Holistic Massage Therapy, accredited by the Massage Training Institute. Course : RhytmMobility - Passive Movement and Stretches Description RhythmMobility addresses a basic need that is often missing in today's sedentary lifestyles - the need to move and be moved. This basic RhythmMobility workshop covers body rocking; limb rolling and some rhythmical stretches for the neck, shoulders and hips which can be blended into massage sessions. The effects can be relaxing, stimulating or both, helping clients to release tension and to regain flexibility. They can also engender a sense of energising and inter-connection throughout the body. Darien offers an effective way of working deeply that is easier on the practitioner's body and can often bypass the client's (instinctive) barriers to release. Great CPD course if you want to increase your passive movement and stretching skills in your massage.
