A Fun and Creative Introduction to Holistic Massage - A Weekend Workshop in Birmingham
Description
We will learn simple foot, back, neck, shoulder, face massage and relaxation techniques; introduce anatomy - made easy and fun; introduce chakras and stillness work. If you are wondering whether to study for the Diploma course and would like a taster of the Meridian's teaching approach; want to use massage at home, or just want a relaxing weekend, this might be for you! An informal 'feelgood' weekend. Previous massage experience not required.

Appointed Person First Aid with Holos Healthcare
Description
Need to renew your First Aid Certificate? Appointed Person First Aid Course. Maximum use is made of structured practical time, and the aim is for studnets to learn First Aid in a relaxed, informative atmosphere whilst having fun! The qualification gained is recognised within the UK and successful participants will receive a certificate to cover the current statutory requirements for appointed persons. Thank you

Relevant course materials including self-assessment workbooks, manuals and rvision aids will be issued on the course. Holos are experienced trainers of many disciplines, including complementary health practitioners.

Holistic Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy Practitioner Diploma
Description
A part time one year diploma course in professional Holistic Sports and Remedial Massage Therapy. Study on one weekend per month, with home study and practice inbetween weekends. You will need to have completed some massage or body work training before taking this level 4 course, the minimum requirement is level 3 in bodywork and Anatomy, physiology and pathology. The course is accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists. Course :
Indian Head Massage Certificate
Description
This Indian Head Massage Certificate, accredited by the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT), is suitable for those with an existing qualification in level 3 Anatomy and Physiology, e.g. reflexology, and would like to enhance their skills. It is useful as a stand alone therapy or to incorporate techniques learnt, into existing treatment sessions.

With the Meridian approach some of the areas we cover include; traditional Indian Head Massage techniques with Western adaptations, working over clothing, use of oils, revision of AP&P, consultation, contra indications and working with chakras. You will need to complete all homework and Indian Head Massage practice which includes 3 case studies. There is a final written and practical assessment.

The first weekend of the diploma course is 4/5th February 2012, with the date for the following 2 teaching and assessment days to be arranged. The costs for the Certificate in Indian Head Massage, cover additional teaching hours and assessment.

Description
We will learn the techniques and sequence of Indian Head Massage over clothing, to share with friends and family. The weekend will also include some anatomy made easy and working with chakras. No previous massage experience is required

Description
This Open Evening provides and ideal opportunity if you would like to find out more about our Diploma Courses and Continued Professional Development workshops that we currently run at the Meridian school and meet the tutors. A great opportunity if you would like to explore the learning venue and have any of your questions answered directly and in person.

Professional Diploma in On-site Massage (Seated Acupressure)
Description
This is a City & Guilds and CThA accredited Professional Diploma course. Participants must hold an existing recognised qualification in Anatomy and Physiology and Bodywork, e.g. Swedish, Holistic or Body Massage. The course runs over two weekends, approximately 4 weeks apart.

Level 1 - Every participant will receive a 20min massage from the tutor to give 1st hand experience of how the massage should feel - Introduction to the history and background to Seated Acupressure - Learn a full set of core techniques which make up the massage, including over 90 acupressure points and covering the back, neck, head, arms, hands, and also stretches and percussion - Special attention is placed on the posture and positioning of the therapist, the use of their body weight and good practise in respect of therapist injury prevention - Client screening and record keeping - Cautions and contra indications - Chair set up and correct use of equipment - The aims and limitations of Seated Acupressure Massage - Discussion on practical and theory exams and case studies

Level 2 - Refining your skills, including some 1 to 1 tuition. The tutor provides guidance on your execution of techniques and personal posture. - Case study practise on a complete stranger, providing valuable experience whilst under the guidance of the tutor - Introducing a range of new techniques to enable you to start making your massage more client focused rather than sequence focused - How to adapt your massage to fit shorter 5 or 10 minute appointments - Further 1 to 1 tuition where you massage the tutor and they provide feedback and guidance from a receivers point of view in respect of pressure, quality of pressure, rhythm and flow of the massage, and point location - Practise screening situations. - Introduction to Marketing On Site Massage to the Corporate Sector
