Holistic Massage Treatment

Holistic Massage Treatment in Birmingham and Devon with Lorraine

Holistic Massage is probably one of the oldest and simplest forms of therapy and healing.

When receiving treatment from Lorraine, the first session is also a consultation where you will be asked general questions about your health and general well-being. You will also have the opportunity to ask questions and obtain more information. These discussions help to decide how to tailor the treatment to best meet your need.

The initial consultation session lasts approximately 1hour and a half. Sessions thereafter last about 1hour.

A combination of light and deep massage techniques are used to relax, stimulate and invigorate mind, body and emotions - a person's whole being, including the treatment of specific physical symptoms. Treatment is provided holistically - treating you as a whole person, not merely as a series of symptoms (for more information on holistic click here).

The benefits of therapeutic massage:

  • stress relief by promoting relaxation, as it relieves the strains and tension of daily life - the most common use of massage
  • time for yourself, your treat to you
  • relieve physical tension and its symptoms, such as headaches; the pain of tight muscles.
  • massage can ease the kind of back and neck pain people often experience at the end of the working day - when hunched over a desk or driving a lot for example.
  • help to stimulate the circulatory systems; sooth and revitalise the nervous systems and improve flexibility
  • on an emotional level, it's calming and soothing effects can help reduce anxiety and depression. Helping to regain self-confidence.
  • increase self-worth and an individual's awareness of their whole body - that it is valuable and worth taking care of
  • helping to unblock energy and all sorts of emotions

Massage is an important part of keeping and feeling well, and not just a response to the causes of ill-health

The massage therapy session:

Often people who have never received massage therapy are deterred from booking a session because of 'fear of the unknown'. So if this is the case, please do not hesitate to ring for more information about the massage or how the sessions run, without any obligation to book.

The first session is also a consultation; where the therapist asks you general questions about your health and general well-being and you also get the opportunity to ask questions and obtain more information. Your treatment is then discussed with you prior to starting your massage.
